For nearly ten years, I have served Christ in the rural communities of Mityana. As I have worked alongside local pastors, one burden has become increasingly clear: many faithful men are shepherding churches with little or no access to sound theological training. In the communities where we serve, as many as nine out of ten pastors we encounter have never received formal theological training. For some, the barrier is financial; for others, limited formal education means they may never meet the academic requirements for admission to a Bible college or seminary. Yet these men are preaching every week and shepherding souls for eternity.

Seeing this need has become one of the main reasons I am pursuing my Master of Divinity (MDiv). In 2026, I began my first year at Africa Reformation Theological Seminary. My desire is to become more deeply grounded in God’s Word and better equipped to take sound theological training to pastors who may never be able to come to a seminary themselves—training them within their own communities, in the language they understand best, and in ways suited to their ministry context.

My prayer is that these shepherds will then equip other faithful men, so that biblical truth multiplies from pastor to pastor, church to church, and generation to generation. The vision is ultimately much bigger than Mityana. Christ has purchased for Himself a people from every tribe, language, people, and nation (Revelation 5:9–10; 7:9). My passion is to see the peoples of Africa represented in that great multitude, worshiping the Lamb—and to serve that mission by helping equip faithful shepherds who will faithfully teach His Word.
